Automated Grocery Store

A self-managing, automated grocery system that allows students to order ahead and receive items through a robotic fulfillment system with minimal human labor.

Project Updates

Goals:

This project addresses high labor costs and time constraints by introducing a vending-style grocery system. The system is organized into freezer, fridge, and pantry zones, enabling efficient storage and retrieval of goods.

A network of robotic cartridges handles restocking automatically. These robots operate on a one-way track and swap preloaded inventory to ensure shelves remain stocked without manual intervention.

Customers place orders ahead of time, and items are delivered via conveyor belts to a pickup location. This creates a seamless and efficient user experience tailored for busy student schedules.

The project is designed specifically for college campuses, where students often need access to food at unconventional hours. This system eliminates the need for 24/7 staffing while still meeting demand.
